## What it looks like in a life

You dress with intent even for an errand. You are generous with attention, praise, money, and time, and you give it fast, because giving is how you love. When you walk into a room you check who saw. You end up at the head of the table without deciding to. Children and animals come to you. You tell a story with your hands and the table goes quiet, and a week later somebody repeats your line back to you. Criticism in public stings far longer than you let on, and you answer it with warmth instead of anger, which confuses people. When you are not wanted somewhere, you leave with your posture intact and grieve it alone.

## The gift

You give people permission. Around you they take up more room, laugh louder, try the thing, because your own lack of apology is contagious. Your loyalty does not depend on convenience. And you carry heat: a project, a family, a whole room can run on the warmth you put out long after everyone else has gone flat.

## The friction
