Mars sextile Pluto means real depth and staying power are available to your drive whenever you decide to use them. Nothing forces the intensity, so it shows up where you commit and stays out of your way everywhere else.

## The hook

There is more force in you than you usually spend. You have felt it a few times, in the situations that actually mattered.

## What it looks like in a life

Pluto holds a sign for twelve to twenty years, so the sign belongs to a generation. The sextile to your Mars is what makes it personal. You are ordinary until something matters, and then you are unrecognizable in a good way. You can research one subject for a month, sit in a hard conversation without flinching, and stay in a difficult situation long after other people have quit. You read people quickly and rarely say what you have read. You are comfortable with money, sex, death, and the hard end of other people's lives in a way that surprises them. None of it shows unless you use it.

## The gift

You have access to force without being run by it, and that is the whole difference between this aspect and the hard ones. You can go all the way into a situation and come back out, so you are useful in a crisis, in grief, and in a negotiation. People hand you authority quickly because you do not appear to want it, and you do not misuse it, because you never needed it.

## The friction

The door opens when you push it, and you often do not push. You can spend a whole life using a fraction of what you have and calling yourself easygoing. The unused force does not disappear. It collects as a low, patient frustration with your own life. You also keep too much to yourself. Reading everyone and revealing nothing is a habit that quietly costs you closeness.

## The esoteric layer

The sextile is a sixth of the circle, two times three, harmony that has to be worked for. Hellenistic astrology read it as the cooperation of signs sharing polarity and treated Mars as the lesser malefic. It could say nothing about Pluto, which was not discovered until 1930. Bailey's esoteric astrology calls the sextile opportunity rather than gift, skill built in this life, and the modern esoteric lineage reads Pluto as the destroyer aspect of the first ray, what ends whatever is finished. Offered that, you still have to open the door.

## Where this goes

The houses involved say where the depth is already in use and where it has never once been called on. A full natal reading is where you see what you have been holding back.
