You say the blunt sentence and watch the room decide whether to be offended or relieved. You round the numbers up when the story is better that way, and you are not lying, you are compressing. You lose interest in a subject the moment you can see its shape, which is long before you can actually do it. You will change a whole belief in one good conversation, then change it back six months later with equal certainty.

## The gift

You see the pattern before the data finishes arriving, and you are usually right about the shape of it. You can take something complicated and say it in one sentence people remember a year later. Your honesty saves time: people get the real read from you, which is rarer than they expect. And you teach naturally, because meaning is where your mind already lives.

## The friction

The details you skipped come back with interest. You state a strong position built on two facts and a feeling, then defend it as principle. Bluntness is not the same as honesty. Honesty includes checking whether the person in front of you could hear it. And you keep moving to the next big idea before the last one had to prove itself in practice.

In the Hellenistic system Mercury is in detriment in Sagittarius, the sign opposite its home in Gemini. The tradition reads that as the detail-mind set loose in the sign of the wide view: knowledge stretched into opinion. Sagittarius comes from the Babylonian archer god and belongs to Jupiter. Bailey's esoteric astrology gives the sign a second ruler, the Earth, and the keynote "I see the goal. I reach the goal, and then I see another." The correction is built into the lineage.
