## The hook

You built something solid and you are holding it with both hands. Nothing new gets in that way.

## What it looks like in a life

You like what you can count. You built your own, slowly, and you know what every piece of it cost. You keep separate accounts, separate rooms, separate compartments inside yourself, and you call it being responsible. You stay in situations long past their usefulness, because leaving means losing what you put in. Sex and money are the two subjects where you go quiet. You are slow to trust, and even once someone is in, you hold back a reserve they can feel. You have avoided the conversation that would change the whole arrangement. And the few times you did let something go, your life moved.

## The gift

You are steady where other people panic. Your ground is solid enough that you can be in the room for somebody's worst night without needing anything back from them. When you do merge, you bring resources and patience into it instead of need. That is rare, and it is what makes the deep end survivable for the people who come with you.

## The friction

Holding on turns into the whole strategy. You confuse security with control, so you keep the arrangement small enough to manage and call the smallness peace. ## The esoteric layer

The nodes mark where the Moon's orbit crosses the ecliptic, the only zone where eclipses occur. In the Hellenistic system the ascending node increases what it touches and the descending node diminishes it, which is why the later tradition read them as the Head and the Tail of a single dragon: the same appetite, swallowing at one end, releasing at the other. Reading the North Node as a direction of growth is modern and belongs in the modern column, along with the past-life stories attached to it. The modern reading here is simple. Your increase is in what you share.
