You over-give and then quietly keep count, which is the part nobody sees. Diets, budgets, and boundaries get set in strict terms and abandoned over a weekend. You would rather be the one who paid than the one who calculated.

## The gift

You make life bigger for the people near you. Small thinking bores you, so you back the ambitious plan, fund the risky idea, and treat your friends better than the situation requires. When that generosity is aimed at something worth it, the result is out of proportion to what anyone else put in. You are rarely stingy and never petty.

## The friction

Excess is the cost and it arrives dressed as warmth. You promise more than the week holds. You inflate a person in your own mind and feel cheated when they stay their actual size. Money leaves faster than it comes in, and the story you tell about that is always about being generous rather than being imprecise.

The square divides the circle by four, the number the esoteric tradition assigns to matter, the cross of incarnation. Bailey puts it plainly: the crosses indicate process and points of crisis, so the hard angle is where the work actually happens. Jupiter is the greater benefic in the Hellenistic system and sacred in the esoteric one, and the Hermetic texts name his vice as the evil impulses of wealth. Squared to Venus, expansion is being asked to learn measure. Measure is not a smaller life. It is an aimed one.
