Mars in the 6th House

Mars in the 6th house means your energy goes into work, routine, and the body. You push hard at the daily level, conflict shows up with coworkers and with your own health, and this is the house the old tradition says Mars belongs in.

You out-work the room and nobody knows how much it costs you.

What it looks like in a life

You are the one who stays. Not for the credit, because leaving a job half done physically bothers you. You have had at least one workplace where the conflict was constant, and you either fixed it or burned out in it. You train, lift, run, or work with your hands, and if you stop for two weeks your mood tells on you. Illness shows up when you push past the warning signs, and you push past them routinely. You are impatient with people who do the job badly and you are not good at hiding it. Your to-do list is a discipline, not a suggestion. And rest has to be scheduled or it does not happen.

The gift

You have working stamina most people cannot fake. You turn effort into skill through repetition, day after day, and that compounds into competence nobody can take from you. In a crisis at work you are the one moving while others are still processing. You will do the unglamorous part. And your body responds fast to training, which means discipline pays you back quicker than it pays most people.

The friction

You grind past the point of return and call it work ethic. Irritation leaks onto coworkers who did nothing except be slower than you. You solve problems with more effort when the answer was a different approach. And the body keeps the score: the injury, the stomach, the sleep that never quite resets.

The esoteric layer

In the Hellenistic system the 6th house is where Mars rejoices. Of the twelve places, this is the one the oldest doctrine assigned to Mars, and it is worth noting what that house was called: Bad Fortune, the place of labor, injury, and illness. The joy is not comfort. It is a malefic placed where its kind of trouble already lives, doing less damage there than it would anywhere else. Bailey's esoteric reading names Mars the battlefield of the desire-nature. Here that battlefield is ordinary: the day, the task, the body.

Where this goes

The sign on this Mars says how you burn energy, and the 6th house ruler says where the health pressure gathers. A full natal reading works out that pattern before it becomes a diagnosis.
