What it looks like in a life
This square ran through 1993 to 1994 and again through 2009 to 2010, so a whole cohort has it. The house it falls in and its aspects to your personal planets are what turn it into your life specifically. In practice you struggle with authority in a way that goes past irritation. You have had things taken from you, or you watched it happen young, and you organized yourself around never being in that position again. You control the details. You keep an exit. You work past the point of usefulness. You either fight power directly or you go completely silent around it, and there is nothing between those two.
The gift
Friction builds muscle, and this one builds the heaviest kind. You can survive what would end other people and you can do it without lying about it afterward. You are honest about power because you were never allowed the comfortable version. When you finally rebuild something, it holds, because you have already watched the flimsy version fall.
The friction
The loop is old and it moves fast. You sense a threat, you tighten your grip, the tightening costs you the thing, and the loss confirms that you should have gripped harder. Nothing in that sequence gets checked. Meanwhile the strain goes into the body and into your closest relationships, where control gets mistaken for care. Rage sits underneath it, and you have been calling it discipline for years.
The esoteric layer
Saturn is Kronos in the Hellenistic material, the greater malefic, and in Bailey's esoteric astrology the Lord of Karma and the Guardian of the Threshold. Pluto was discovered in 1930, so it appears nowhere in the ancient tradition, and its reading is Bailey and modern only. Bailey calls it the destroyer aspect of the first ray. Bailey also puts the square plainly: the triangles indicate possibility, the crosses indicate process and points of crisis. This is a crisis aspect by design, and it is where the actual development happens.
