Neptune in Leo

Neptune in Leo means the imagination goes toward being seen: some part of you believes that if you were truly witnessed, the thing inside you would finally heal. Neptune crosses a sign in about fourteen years, so Leo belongs to everyone born from 1915 to 1929.

You half believe the right audience would fix it. The applause keeps landing next to the wound instead of on it.

What it looks like in a life

Everyone born in those years carries the sign, so it is the house that tells you anything. In the 5th it shows up in romance and in whatever you make: you fall for the glow around a person, and your creative work comes out of you like something borrowed rather than built. In the 1st it is a presence people project onto before you speak. In the 10th it is a public image larger and vaguer than the person holding it. The aspects decide how far it goes. Neptune touching your Sun means the image and the self are hard to separate. Neptune touching Venus means you love the picture first and the person second.

The gift

You carry real glamour in the old sense of the word. When you create or perform, something bigger than you moves through it and the room feels that. Your generosity is theatrical and also genuine, which is a rarer combination than it sounds. People leave your presence feeling more possible than they did walking in.

The friction

The performance grows while the person underneath goes hungry. You start believing your own image, which works until somebody gets close enough to see the difference. Praise never reaches the place that needed it, so you go looking for more of it. Being admired and being known stop looking like two separate things, and only one of them heals anything.

The esoteric layer

Neptune was not discovered until 1846, so it has no place in the ancient systems, and its depth is modern and Bailey's. Bailey calls Neptune sacred and puts it on the sixth ray of devotion. He also says the Sun in Leo veils Neptune at the soul level, which makes this placement the hidden planet sitting in the sign that hides it. Leo's curriculum is individualization: building a self solid enough to be offered up later, with the keynote "I am That, and That am I." Neptune here keeps thinning the self before it has been built. Build it anyway.

Where this goes

The house says where the spotlight falls and the aspects to your Sun say how much of the image you have started to believe. A full natal reading separates the two.
