Pluto was last in Pisces from 1797 to 1823 and returns in 2043 for about twenty-five years, so nobody alive was born with it. If your chart shows it, check the birth year. In the charts of that era it read as people who could feel an entire society shifting under them and had no language for it: revolution, the first factories, the beginning of the modern search for something beyond the church. A person carrying it holds no firm edge between their own feeling and everyone else's. What dissolves in their life does not come back as something solid. It comes back as something larger.
The gift
Whole versions of a life can dissolve and this placement trusts what forms next. Very few can do that. It has no fear of the invisible either: the dying, the addicted, the people everyone else has written off are simply people, and it will sit with them. Pisces gives Pluto the one thing the planet lacks in the other eleven signs, which is mercy.
The friction
When the change asks too much, it drifts instead. Sleep, screens, substances, devotion to something that has not earned it: anything soft enough to hide inside. Bailey makes Pluto both the esoteric and the hierarchical ruler of Pisces: non-sacred, the destroyer aspect of the first ray, the planet that ends the last claim of the separated self. Pisces is the final sign, where the two fishes bound on one cord, soul and form, finally swim the same direction. Its soul keynote in her system says it plainly: I leave the Father's home, and turning back, I save.
