You do not always know what you feel until you hear yourself say it. Then it is out, it is true, and you cannot take it back.
What it looks like in a life
You narrate. In the car, in the shower, in a text that turns into six paragraphs at one in the morning. You learn by feeling your way through material, so the subjects that moved you are the ones you still remember in detail, and the ones that bored you left nothing behind. Your mood picks your vocabulary. On a good day you are quick and funny. On a bad day the sentences get shorter and someone asks what is wrong. You are the friend who names the thing nobody else could put words to. You are also the one who says the raw version first and cleans it up afterward, out loud, in front of people.
The gift
There is almost no distance between what you feel and what you can say, so you put language on states other people carry for years without naming. That makes you a good writer, a good listener, and a person others confide in quickly. Your memory works through feeling, which means you recall whole conversations word for word when they mattered.
The friction
There is no pause between the feeling and the sentence. You treat a mood like a conclusion and argue it like one, then wonder the next morning why you defended something you no longer believe. When you are unsettled your thinking is unsettled too, and you cannot tell the difference from the inside. Silence feels like danger, so you fill it before you have anything to say.
The esoteric layer
In the older Greek scheme the Moon is instinct and habit, the part of you running on what already happened. Mercury is the messenger who crosses between levels: Hermes goes where no other god may go. Bailey's esoteric astrology sharpens the split, calling the Moon a dead form carrying the past while Mercury builds the bridge between soul and personality. A conjunction seeds them as one cycle, fused before you can tell them apart. The alchemists said it in metal: quicksilver dissolves whatever it touches. The work is learning which voice is memory and which is mind.
Where this goes
The sign and house these two share say what subject your inner voice runs on all day. That fused voice, and how to tell it apart from you, is what The Inner Dialogue film takes apart.
