What it looks like in a life
You have a history with authority figures who withheld approval, and you kept working for it anyway. You choose partners or bosses who are older, harder, or colder, and you take their standards as law. In other seasons you become the strict one, holding the line while everyone else plays. You go quiet under criticism and rehearse the reply for days afterward. Serious relationships feel like tests. You have delayed your own life waiting for permission that was never going to be issued, and you have also kept promises long past the point where no one would have blamed you for walking.
The gift
You know exactly what a commitment costs and you make them anyway. That is a kind of integrity most people only talk about. You can hold your ground in front of someone with power over you, because you have been doing it since childhood. Once you stop needing the approval, you become the steady one for everybody else, the person who says the hard true thing and stays in the room afterward.
The friction
You hand the verdict to whoever is across from you, then resent them for delivering it. The seesaw runs between compliance and rebellion, and neither end is your own authority. You confuse somebody else's disapproval with the truth about you. The relationship changes and the tone of the judgment stays identical. That is the tell.
The esoteric layer
The opposition is harmonic two, read esoterically as full Moon logic: illumination arriving through the Other. The two ends are held in tension until a reconciling third point is found, which is why the tradition treats this aspect as relationship used as spiritual practice. Saturn is the greater malefic in the Hellenistic system and, in Bailey's esoteric astrology, sacred: the Lord of Karma and the Guardian at the threshold, giving opportunity in the shape of difficulty. On this axis the guardian wears a human face until you take the post yourself.
