What it looks like in a life
Pluto's sign is generational, shared by everyone born around you. The opposition to your Sun is what makes it a personal ledger. You are drawn to strong personalities and then find yourself in a struggle over who decides. There has usually been at least one relationship where the power was not shared, and you knew it, and you stayed. You either underplay your own force until it comes out sideways, or you carry all of it and watch people shrink around you. Loyalty matters intensely to you, and betrayal has been a theme rather than an incident. Ordinary conflicts escalate faster than they should.
The gift
An opposition hands you both poles at full strength. Once you stop leaving your power on the other side of the table, you can use it without hiding it and share a life without surrendering it. You understand domination and surrender from the inside, which makes you unusually good with anyone stuck in one or the other.
The friction
What you disown, somebody else picks up. Refuse your own ruthlessness and you will keep partnering with people who supply it, then fight them for doing exactly what you outsourced. Refuse your own softness and you will run everything and feel alone inside it. The fight looks like it is about the other person. It has been about the half of yourself you set down.
The esoteric layer
Ptolemy counted the opposition among the hard aspects: one hundred and eighty degrees, the number two, polarity, full-moon light. The esoteric reading calls it illumination through the other, two poles held in tension until a reconciling third point appears. Pluto is absent from the old sources. Bailey's astrology names it non-sacred and gives it the destroyer aspect of the first ray, the will that ends what is finished. Set against the Sun, what has to end is the arrangement where your power lives in somebody else's hands.
