The moment something settles, part of you starts looking for the exit. You have called that instinct. Sometimes it is.
What it looks like in a life
Uranus stays in a sign about seven years, so the sign belongs to your whole generation. The square to your Mars is what makes it personal. You blow up arrangements you spent a year building. You take the risky option in the moment and assemble the reasoning afterward. Authority sets your teeth on edge, and you have quit or been fired over a principle you could not explain calmly at the time. Your anger is sudden and physical: doors, keys, the drive with no destination. You have hurt yourself moving too fast. You have also walked out of a bad situation in one day that other people took years to leave.
The gift
You cannot be trapped for long. Whatever it has cost, it built a genuine refusal to live in a cage, and most people never develop that. You move first in an emergency while everyone else is still discussing. You have broken your own life open enough times to know it survives, which makes you very hard to threaten.
The friction
The loop is quick. Pressure builds, you feel it as confinement, you make an abrupt move, the relief is immediate, and the bill arrives three months later. Nothing in that sequence ever tests whether the pressure was going to pass on its own. You read static in your nervous system as a message. Meanwhile the thing you keep leaving is often the thing you actually wanted.
The esoteric layer
The square is a quarter of the circle, the number four, what the older writers call the cross of matter. Bailey's esoteric astrology says the crosses indicate process and points of crisis, which makes the hard aspects the engine of development rather than the wound. Mars in that system is the battlefield of the desire nature. Uranus has no ancient reading, since it was not found until 1781. The modern doctrine gives it rupture and lightning insight, and Bailey's lineage adds that its change is lawful. Under a square you get the rupture first and the law much later.
Where this goes
The houses involved say where the pressure builds and where you keep detonating. The rest of the chart says what has held anyway. That is the first thing a full natal reading looks at.
