What it looks like in a life
For most readers this is an ancestor's placement, and the sign is shared by a whole generation anyway, so the house is what makes it personal. The esoteric layer
Every claim about Neptune is modern, because it was not discovered until 1846 and the older traditions built their system without it. Bailey's esoteric astrology calls it a sacred planet on the sixth ray of devotion, whose work is dissolving the separate self. Gemini in that system is the sign of the twins, one mortal and one immortal, which Bailey reads as personality and soul, with the keynote "I recognise my other self, and in the waning of that self, I grow and glow." Neptune here blurs which twin is talking. Learning to tell them apart is the whole assignment.
