What it looks like in a life
You say yes too fast. The project sounded good in the room, and now it is Thursday and you are doing three people's work. You go too hard at the start of everything: the diet, the training, the new business, the new belief. Arguments turn into arguments about what is right, and you would rather be right than finished. Money moves in spikes, because you spend on the strength of what is coming. There is usually a stretch in your twenties that looks reckless from the outside, and it taught you more than the careful years did.
The gift
You do not shrink a thing to make it manageable. When everyone else has talked themselves out of the big version, you are still standing next to it, and sometimes you are right and they were only scared. The friction also makes you work. This square puts effort behind the faith, so your optimism has calluses on it.

The overreach is not a one-time mistake, it is the design. You take on more than you can carry, resent the weight, then take on more to prove the weight was never the problem. Excess dressed as conviction is hard to argue with, including from the inside. And exhaustion shows up as certainty, right before the thing falls over.
The esoteric layer
The square is a quarter of the circle, the number four, what the tradition calls the cross of matter. Bailey's esoteric astrology is direct about it: the crosses indicate process and points of crisis, which makes hard aspects the engine of development rather than a defect in the chart. Jupiter is sacred there, the second ray, love and wisdom. Mars is not sacred, the sixth ray, devotion by way of conflict. A square between them is belief and appetite grinding against each other until one of them learns proportion. It is usually Mars that learns.
