Sun in the 6th House

Sun in the 6th house means your identity gets made in the daily grind: the job, the routine, the body, the thing you do well and repeatedly. You need useful work to feel like a person, and when the work is wrong your health says so before your mind does.

You have never understood people who separate who they are from what they do all day.

What it looks like in a life

You show up. You are the person who knows how the thing actually runs, including the parts nobody documented. You improve systems without being asked and get quietly annoyed when it goes unnoticed. Your body keeps the score of your working life: your back, your stomach, your sleep. You have had at least one stretch where the job made you sick and you stayed anyway. You like a routine more than you like admitting it. You are drawn to health, food, craft, animals, and repair. You would rather be competent than admired, and then you feel invisible, and both of those are true at once.

The gift

You make things work. Where other people bring vision, you bring the daily execution that turns a vision into something real, and you sustain it long past the point most people lose interest. You catch small errors before they become disasters. And your service is genuine, which people feel even when they cannot name what you did.

The friction

You disappear into usefulness. Your worth gets tied to output, so rest reads as failure and you work through the warnings until the body ends the argument for you. You criticize yourself in a voice you would never use on anyone else. And you can serve a system that will never serve you back, out of loyalty to the work itself.

The esoteric layer

In the Hellenistic system the sixth place was called Bad Fortune and it was the joy of Mars: labor, illness, servitude, the hard mechanics of embodied life. It was not a gentle house. The Sun there puts the light of the personality into the machinery of daily existence. Bailey's esoteric astrology reads the personality as an instrument the soul learns to use, and this placement makes that teaching physical rather than abstract. The body is the instrument. The work is the practice. That is the whole doctrine, played out in your Tuesdays.

Where this goes

Mercury, Mars, and the ruler of your sixth house say which work actually fits you and which one is grinding you down. A full natal reading separates the two before your body has to.
