What it looks like in a life
Uranus stood opposite Pluto in 1901 and 1902, Uranus in Sagittarius against Pluto in Gemini. Everyone born in that window shared it, and that generation has passed. The opposition returns around 2046 and 2047. So if software gave you Uranus opposite Pluto, you are almost certainly reading transiting Uranus against your natal Pluto, or two planets separated by more than twelve degrees. The transit is worth taking seriously. It arrives once in a life at most, and it lands as a few years where something you have been holding by force meets something that will not stay held, and the arrangement breaks in public.
The gift
An opposition makes each side visible by putting the other one across the table. Uranus keeps insisting on the exit and Pluto keeps insisting on the depth, and neither can be dismissed. Held long enough, that produces someone who can make an irreversible change without pretending it was easy, and who knows the difference between leaving and destroying.
The friction
Two opposed forces take turns. You get a stretch of sudden breaks and cut ties, then a stretch of gripping down and controlling everything in reach, each one overcorrecting for the last. The swing can run for years before anything gets integrated, and the people around you take the whiplash.
The esoteric layer
The ancient astrologers knew neither planet, so nothing here is drawn from that tradition. The esoteric reading is Bailey and modern. The opposition is the number two, and esoteric astrology treats it as full moon logic: awareness comes through confrontation with the other, and the pair stays in tension until a third reconciling point is found. Bailey counts Uranus sacred, carrying the seventh ray of sudden lawful change, and Pluto non-sacred, carrying the first ray as the destroyer that clears what the soul has finished with. Opposed, they force a choice between change and control.
Where this goes
If this is a transit, the houses it crosses say what breaks and roughly when. A full natal reading is where those dates and houses get named.
