Sun opposite Neptune

Sun opposite Neptune means the self you are trying to be and the part of you that dissolves stand at opposite ends of one life, and the dissolving usually arrives through other people. It shows up as idealizing partners, attracting the lost, and losing your own outline inside relationships that began as rescue.

You keep meeting people who need saving, and you keep discovering you were the one who needed it.

What it looks like in a life

Neptune's sign is shared by everyone born in your decade. The opposition to your Sun is the part with your name on it. You fall for potential rather than people, and the fall is fast. You become who someone needs, and it works until it does not. You have been badly misread and you have badly misread someone else, sometimes inside the same relationship. Partners describe you as either the anchor or the fog, depending on which end you were holding that year. When the idealizing breaks, the disappointment is total, and you take it as evidence about the world instead of information about the projection.

The gift

You know from both sides what it costs to be seen wrongly, and that is knowledge most people never get. It makes you careful with others in a way that is not performance. An opposition also hands you both poles at full strength, so once you stop trading them back and forth, you can be clear and devoted in the same life. Very few people manage that.

The friction

Whatever you will not carry, you give to somebody else. Hand over your own longing and you get to be the sober one while a partner acts it out for you. Then you resent the acting. Or you take the other seat, become the mystery someone else projects onto, and lose track of what you wanted. Either way the confusion moves between two people instead of getting settled by one.

The esoteric layer

Ptolemy counted the opposition hard: one hundred and eighty degrees, the number two, polarity. The esoteric reading calls it full-moon logic, illumination through the other, where the pair stays in tension until a third reconciling point is found. Neptune is not in the old sources. Bailey's astrology counts it sacred and gives it devotion, with glamour as the failure mode, meaning worship without discernment. Across from the Sun, the devotion in you is real. It has been aimed at people, and it was never meant for them.

Where this goes

The houses at each end say where you keep dissolving and where you keep trying to stand, and the rest of the chart says what could hold the middle. That is the ground a therapeutic astrology session works on.
